concert week. disappointed.

this week's the craziest week. let's see. went to catch panic! at the disco concert on sunday, all american rejects on wednesday and the disappointing deck the hall ball. let me recap on em.

the panic! at the disco concert (12/3) was such a fresh concept. instead of the usual concert style, they designed the whole thing to have that "19th century circus" style, with the face paints, contour artists, clowns and all. it was definitely cool. we reached there late because we're quite unprepared and none of us expected it to come around at this time (we bought the tickets months ago). and ended up that out of the 5 tickets i bought, only 3 went. and that means that from the total of $185, only 3 people came, which leaves me with a $70+$35=$105 ticket. now that's a bummer. how can i be going for such an expensive concert? okay it was good but not like its worth that much. i oughta be killin myself man. so pissed. and i tried to sell them off at the location but nobody bought it because we arrived late. that was when i started becoming rather upset and don't feel like following with the "concert schedule" angie planned. it's not like i have a lot of cash to spare, after buying that car that is.

nevertheless, i did go to the all american rejects concert (12/6). that's because yessica acquired some promotion codes, and we all only had to pay $2.30 for the concert. again we turned up late, missing some of the opening bands, but we came in time to watch motion city soundtrack! the all-american rejects were definitely uber cool, and they totally know how to kick in with the audience. they were really friendly too, with the casual jokes and oh, that "nancy"! (nancy's a sex doll, mind you. and they wanted people to dress nancy up!) and did i mention how tyson appeared in the middle of the crowd and performed? very unexpected indeed.

the deck the hall ball was something that i really looked forward too, however. it's an annual event whereby lots of major artists perform together for some xmas stuff. yea i don't really know what that's for but it's xmas right? and this year they have a lot of artists that i really like: my chemical romance, snow patrol, jet, angels and airwaves, gnarls barkley. there're some that are okay, like taking back sunday, and some i still haven't come to know of yet like the shins and pete yorn. (let me know if their music is good!) and the most disappointing thing is that we never went in. first of all we came late. that was already a bummer because by the time we reached there, we'd already missed angels & airwaves and jet. AND the only tickets they had is those at the really top row, so high that i bet you can't see anything. by the time someone inside was willing to let us into the floor if we have the tickets, the ticket booth's closed. and that left me & angie out in the cold stranded, and hungry. if it's singapore it's okay. at least it's not cold, safer definitely and oh, so convenient to get around. this is seattle. no cars, really hard to get around. and the thought of riding buses at night here scares me. maybe it's because people kept reminding me of the "dangers" lurking out at night. anyhow that left me stuck there til 12 midnight until angie's friend finally came and sent us home. the only lucky thing is that we managed to meet gerard way, the frontman in my chemical romance. managed to get his autograph and took a pic with him. but that's it.

that was such a bummer. and now i really don't feel like going to any concerts anymore, at least for a while. perhaps i'm not that crazy for concerts after all. it really clicked in after that deck the hall ball. the really long bus ride to downtown, the whole frenzy and all, the price. there's still the jingle bell bash, and i'm really thinking that if angie wants to go all the way to tacoma to catch it, perhaps she can go along with her friends. guess i'm really disappointing her because she really looks forward to the jingle bell bash. i only hope that she understands how i feel and just leave me out for this one. i really need a break from all these fun. i have finals coming up and a staggering math grade. call me a geek, but i'm afraid that with more concerts, that's just too much for me to handle. that's why i told her yesterday that i don't mind going for the kill hannah concert on the 14th though. at least that's when everything's over, and i'm sure by then i'd be more eager again.
