storm-y! thanksgiving の recollections

the winter storm's here! and alas, i don't have a camera to take a picture. but perhaps this article can tell a bit about what's going on right now. thanks to this, i'm stuck at home again. and no, i haven't got a chance to spend my cash prize from the operations management class, nor have i gotten a chance to even do anything that i want outside my house. like taking the dogs to the dog park. or, shopping for x'mas gifts. regardless, i've the feeling there will be no traveling this x'mas. so i've made preparations to celebrate it at home with my brother and don. just like how it was back during thanksgiving.

i guess i haven't blogged about it, but that time we had dinner together at home, for the 1st time. don & i did the groceries shopping and prepared the meals. we baked a whole turkey! and i did the seasoning, heheh. that one kinda failed cos it was too salty on the outside (even though i let it sit in the brine for one whole night!). and then there's the pork loins with orange-something stufing (i can barely recall...), but that one failed too because the meat was too tough (it's QFC's fault! cos i bought it prepared heheh). oh! and my asparagus almost failed cos i forgot to remove the "leaves" on it. hehehe. the most successful dish of the night, i'd say, has to be don's herbed baked potatoes with bacon and sweet corn. i guess, all in all, i'm showing that i'm not much of a cook compared to don. nevertheless, that night was memorable, and i was really happy then.

i don't know if it'll go through well again like thanksgiving. but we'll see. in the meantime, i'd better start thinking of gift ideas.
